The Odia film industry has an almost parallel journey with India. As India is all set to celebrate the 74th Independence Day on August 15, Odia film industry is leaping forward with its journey of over 80 years. 

The Odia film industry, popularly known as Ollywood, has chronicled the evolution of Indian society over the years. Though nationalism and patriotism has not prominently been featured in Odia films, but since the 1960s and 1970s  till now few films have been featuring patriotic songs. Some the tracks have become quite popular among the audience.
